Interoperability CadnaA - CadnaB - CadnaR

Connect CadnaA and CadnaR with CadnaB for extended transmission calculation from outside to inside and vice versa [only for CadnaB calculation method ISO 12354].

Use cases Interoperability CadnaA - CadnaB - CadnaR

  1. Calculation from outside to inside

  2. Calculation from inside to outside

Note

Sync of levels between CadnaA and CadnaB is only possible if calculation results are available in the CadnaB file.

Description use case 1

Calculation from outside to inside.

  • Starting from an exterior source (e.g. a road), CadnaA calculates the level in front of the façade.
  • CadnaB then determines the transmission through the wall based on building acoustic properties including constructions, doors or windows.
  • CadnaR is used to calculate the level inside the room at a specific workplace considering existing sources and obstacles.

Procedure use case 1

  1. Create a CadnaB project containing a CadnaR project for a desired room (see Use cases Interoperability CadnaB - CadnaR; use case 1). A CadnaB project can contain multiple CadnaR projects.

  2. Model the CadnaR project according to your wishes and set at least one receiver.

  3. Model or load a CadnaA project.

  4. Position the CadnaB Building from step 1 into the CadnaA project (see Use cases Interoperability CadnaA - CadnaB; Procedure).

  5. Perform a calculation in CadnaA and synchronize the façade levels to CadnaB via the CadnaB Building dialog (Sync A → B).

  6. Open the CadnaR order management in CadnaB via Calculation | Start CadnaR Calculation and perform the following steps:

    • Calculation type: Room to room transmission

    • Select the line containing the desired room with the task: Receiving room and open the "Project dependencies" dialog via the exclamation mark in the Sources column.

    • In the "Project dependencies" dialog, select the line "Outside via CadnaA façade(s)" and confirm in the dialog with "OK".

    • Select the line with the room and perform a calculation via "Calculate selected jobs".

    • Afterwards, the calculations are performed automatically in CadnaR and CadnaB.

  7. Open the CadnaR project and check the result at the receiver.

Description use case 2

Calculation from inside to outside.

  • Starting from interior sources (e.g. machinery), CadnaR calculates the sound levels in front of the walls inside the room considering existing obstacles.
  • CadnaB then determines the transmission through the wall based on building acoustic properties from e.g. constructions, doors or windows.
  • CadnaA is used to calculate the propagation to the outside of the radiating building.

Procedure use case 2

  1. Create a CadnaB project containing a CadnaR project for the desired room (see Use cases Interoperability CadnaB - CadnaR; use case 1). A CadnaB project can also contain several CadnaR projects.

  2. Model the CadnaR project according to your wishes and set at least one source.

  3. Model or load a CadnaA project.

  4. Position the CadnaB Building from step 1 into the CadnaA project (see Use cases Interoperability CadnaA - CadnaB; Procedure).

  5. Open the CadnaR order management in CadnaB via Calculation | Start CadnaR Calculation and perform the following steps:

    • Calculation type: Room to room transmission

    • Select the row containing the desired room with the task: Sending room and perform a calculation via "Calculate selected jobs".

  6. Open the dialog of the CadnaB Building in CadnaA and click on Sync B → A.

  7. Start a calculation in CadnaA.
