Consistency Check

An automatic consistency check is carried out prior to each calculation. The results of the consistency check are listed in a dialog. A mouse click on a list item highlights the corresponding room pair in color.

The consistency check includes:

  • per room pair (horizontal & vertical): all separating elements with no construction selected (no calculation)
  • per room pair (horizontal & vertical & outside-inside): at least one separating element with no construction selected (path Dd wrong)
  • flanking transmission via Dnf/Lnf: sending room construction \(<>\) receiving room construction, sending room construction is used, receiving room construction is ignored
  • flanking transmission via Dnf/Lnf (horiz.): angle between sending and receiving flanking element not in range 135°\(<\alpha<\)225° (i.e. 180°\(\pm\)45 °), continuous flanking element expected
  • transmission horiz. & outside-inside: inserted/small elements, but missing construction
  • transmission outside-inside: Wall with no construction assigned
  • wall: height \(>\) 0 (\(=\) storey height \(>\) 0)
  • wall: sum of all partial areas > area of the wall, wall is ignored
  • wall: construction with thickness \(=\) 0 (user-defined constructions)
  • wall: with lightweight constructions or with heavy double-walls: additional layer left/right assigned, additional layer is ignored (or deleted)
  • vertical junctions with order \(>\) 4 (i.e. more than 4 walls connected), junction is evaluated as a cross junctions, evaluation for 4th element depends on angle
  • floor: no construction, but additional layer selected
  • floor: lightweight construction, but additional layer assigned, additional layer is ignored
  • DIN 4109: sum of separating area \(<\) 10 m² and evaluation parameter is not Dn,w, see also DIN 4109-1, chapter 4

Issues displayed in the results dialog

In case of deviations from a calculation performed strictly according to the standard, information on the deviations is displayed in the results dialog (see Results Dialog (ISO 12354)). These messages are provided with a traffic light, which is explained in more detail in the Traffic light. In addition to the results of the consistency check, the following messages can be output in the results dialog:

  • Calculation configuration not strictly according to standard!

  • At least one derived/user defined junction detected!

  • At least one user defined Kij used!

  • At least one flank is not taken into account in the calculation or an invalid junction has been found!
