3D-Wire Model

The graphics on the screen is a projection of the entire model on the xy plane. This top view has, however, the disadvantage that objects located behind each the other, as viewed along the direction of projection, cannot be distinguished. The height of an object, its dimension in the z direction, cannot be evaluated from thisprojection.

The 3D-View on the Options menu is helpful here. In this example the projection type „General Parallel“ is used.

Specify arbitrary angles for the viewing direction (Phi: angle relative to the positive x-axis, Theta: elevation angle with the horizontal plane).

Alternatively, use the arrow keys or the numbers on the numerical pad (Phi: keys 4 and 6, Theta: keys 3 and 9).
