Editing Object Tables
On this dialog, the contents and the formatting of an object table from the local libraries can be edited. With the default setting selected the formatting defined in CadnaA internally is used. User-defined formats of object tables can be saved and existing formats be opened.
The format definition makes use of the respective object attributes. The format of an object table is, therefore, object-specific. This means that - for example - a format stored for the object "Point Source" cannot be used for the object "Receiver".
Note
The format of the tables for local and global train classes cannot be edited.

Dialog Edit Object Table (here for object „Point Source“)
Insert Column
In order to create a new column select either the commands Insert before/after from the table’s context menu or press the INS key.
Shifting Table Rows by Drag&Drop
Clicking into a table row and holding the mouse button pressed enables to move a row to new position in the table.
Dialog options
Default Table
With this option the formatting defined in CadnaA internally is used. In this case the definition table below is not editable. The table contains the default column headings, the assigned attributes and format specifications.
User-defined Table
With this option the table format can be defined, based on the default table. In this case the definition table is editable.
Editing Table Columns
A double-click into a table row opens the dialog Table Column where the headings, the column contents and formats are defined.
Drag & Drop of Table Rows
When clicking into a table row and keeping the mouse pressed that row can be moved to a new position in the table. Release the mouse button after dragging.
Button "Copy Default"
When the table format with option "User-defined Table" selected was modified, clicking this button will restore the default table format. The user defined entries - if any - will be overwritten without safety request.
Note
When the table format with option "User-defined Table" selected was modified and, subsequently, the option "Default Table" is selected, the modified settings in the definition table will be kept, however, not applied.
Button "Open"
With option "User-defined Table" selected an object-specific table format file can be opened (file extension *.tbl).
Button "Save"
With option "User-defined Table" selected an object-specific table format file can be saved (file extension *.tbl).
Note
Table format files of other object types can be selected, however, just the columns corresponding with the object attributes of the current object will be displayed. Thus, it is useful to establish a reference to the object type in the name of table format files (e.g. "Barrier_TabF_1.tbl").
Dialog Table Column
In order to edit a column double-click into a row on dialog Edit Object Table or select the command Edit from the context menu. The dialog Edit Column is displayed offering to define the header lines and the column content.

Headers, Line 1..3
Up to three line headings can be defined for every column. Use the expression PREV to combine columns which should receive a common heading (using capital letters).
List Box "Attribute"
This list box defines the column content to be displayed. All object attributes of the selected type are available.
Column Width
The following options are available:
- auto: Arranges the column width automatically depending on the space available (default).
- in mm: Specify a fixed column width in mm.
- in chars: Specify a fixed column width in number of characters to be displayed.
- auto (hist.): This is the default setting. Historically, an automatic column width was used for text attributes while for numerical attributes a column width depending on the internally pre-defined number of digits was used.
Note
In the export tables, the required number of characters is automatically used with the "auto" setting. For the other settings, the number behind the menu is used as the number of characters.
The following type abbreviations are used in the respective table column on dialog Edit Object Table: "auto" = A, "in mm" = M, "in chars" = C, "auto (hist.)" not available.
Precision
Enter the number of digits after the decimal sign. The final decimal will be rounded off to 0.5.
Alignment
select the alignment of the text within the table column (with preview).
Arrow Buttons <-|->

Button "New"
