Transformation

The transformation of objects and/or entire projects is a powerful feature of CadnaA.

Importing data from external files

When files are imported, differences in the coordinate systems may have to be taken into account. Therefore, coordinate transformations are offered for all import formats in CadnaA (button “Transformation“).

Duplicate, displace, rotate, distort objects

Furthermore, the coordinate transformation can be applied to duplicate, to relocate, or to rotate a group of objects.

The feature is available from the dialog Modify Object, action „Transformation“. or from the context menu of objects. Via the dialog Modify Objects several objects - also from different object types - can be transformed or even duplicated (via the option „Keep Original“). When selecting this command from the context menu just the object selected will be transformed or duplicated.

The following types of transformation are available:

  • rotation + translation,
  • match points,
  • affine transformation,
  • geodetic transformation,
  • general transformation,
  • interactive transformation (by using the mouse) and
  • unit conversion.

The interactive transformation is not available via the context menu of objects.
