The import of DWG-files requires option BMP.

The DWG-file format is specific to the design software „AutoCAD“ by Autodesk Corp. The file format uses the file extension *.dwg (for „drawing“). The CadnaA import filter supports DWG 12, 13, 14, 15 (DWG 2000), and 18 (DWG 2004) files. at present.

In principle, there is a restricted compatibility of the DWG file format to older AutoCAD versions. In these cases we recommend alternatively using the DXF import filter or external converter software.

Via the button „Options“ the following DWG-specific settings are available:

• Object Layer (see Allocate Object Type to Layer)
• Import only Section (see Import only Section)
• Simplify Geo automatically (see Simplify Geometry in the manual „Introduction to CadnaA“)
• Transformation (see Coordinate Transformation)
