Symbol Tab

The following options are available:

Option	Feature/s	Comment/Example
Type	(no): In this case no symbol is displayed. Library Symbol: The symbol to be used for object appearance is selected from the symbol library (via list box "Symbol"). Text Symbol: A string or an object attribute can be entered using a specific font and font size (see below).
Length/Width	in meters (dimensions depending on scale) or in millimeters (dimensions not depending on scale).	An expression may be entered using the object-specific attributes (see Table Object Attributes in the manual „Attributes, Variables and Keywords“)
Original Aspect Ratio	When enabled, the aspect ratio is maintained with non-square or non-circular symbols.	applies smaller value of Length/Width
Offset X/Y	By entering an offset the symbol/text can be shifted from the original input location of the object.	Note that in this case, the hot spot to select the object remains at the original position of the object‘s geometry and is not affected by the offset.
Angle (°) relative to Y-Axis/North/Paper	The symbol or text is rotated by the input angle, either relative to the Y-axis, to the defined north direction (by means of the symbol „North Arrow“) or relative to the paper orientation (with rotated sections).	An expression may be entered using the object-specific attributes (see Table Object Attributes in the manual „Attributes, Variables and Keywords“)
List Box „Symbol“(for type „Library Symbol“)	lists available symbols	extensible via the Symbol Library
Text (for type „Text Symbol“)	string and/or object attribute/s (via button >>)
Font (file selector) and Font Size	in meters (dimensions depending on scale) or in millimeters (dimensions not depending on scale), or point (pt)

Note that the text displayed aside of the point sources is not a label, but a part of object‘s appearance. This means that this text cannot be activated or edited in the graphics itself.
