Date Interval of Objects

The data interval on the Memo-Window dialog of a CadnaA object offers to define a temporal range of validity for this object.

Prior to the calculation it is checked whether the reference interval of a variant (see Variants) matches with the date interval specified for objects. With this, the following rules apply:

  • The valid objects are activated and considered in the calculation of the variant. In contrary, all objects are deactivated the date interval of which does not include the reference date of the variant.
  • Objects with no date interval specified are always activated, even when a reference date is defined in the variant.
  • When a date interval has been defined, only those objects are considered in the calculation - additionally to those without a date interval - where the reference date of the variant falls within the date interval.

Examples

reference date of the variant: 2010-09-30

  • object date interval from 2010-10-01: This object will not be considered in the calculation.
  • object date interval to 2010-10-01: This object will be considered in the calculation.
  • object date interval 2010-01-01 to 2010-12-31: This object will be considered in the calculation.
