CadnaA 2026

Rules for IDs

The Rules for IDs applicable in CadnaA will be enforced by the software starting with version 2026. From this version onward, only the characters A–Z, a–z, 0–9, and the underscore (“_”) will be permitted when entering IDs. When opening existing files, the software will automatically check and, if necessary, adjust IDs to comply with these rules. This ensures consistent and correct referencing of all objects. For more detailed information, see Automatic adjustment of IDs.

Transition to UTF-8

With CadnaA 2026, the software will transition to UTF-8 encoding. In most cases, no user action will be required. However, there are certain situations that may require attention...

  • when opening files that contain characters from other languages (e.g., Greek).
  • when using global libraries hosted on a server and accessed by multiple users.

For detailed information about the transition and specific considerations for the cases mentioned above, see Transition to UTF-8.

Syntax deprecation warning

Please also note the deprecation warning for the syntax used to address variants and spectra, which has been in effect since the 2025 MR1 release, see here.

Functions

  • New Filter function for tables. An arithmetic or string condition can be specified for each column. The search function has become obsolete due to the new filters and has therefore been removed.
  • New import format GeoPackage (.gpkg).
  • “Select Batch Calculations” dialog: The “Continue grid calculation” option now also allows the additional selection of the calculation type “Receivers / Building Evaluation”.
  • For library entries with the same ID that are referenced by objects, the first entry is now always used.
  • Optimization when using multiple screens with different dpi values and scaling (e.g., Full HD monitor at 100% and 4k monitor at 200%).
  • Variant selection in the PlotDesigner plan cell is now taken into account when variants are reordered.
  • Import of SOSI files in version 5.0 now possible.
  • New Lua function cna.scandir(path, ext) for listing files (optionally filtered by type) of a directory.
  • New Lua function to access facade points.

Calculation methods

  • Calculation of wind turbine noise according to IoA Good Practice Guide implemented.

    • Checkbox "IoA (2 dB)" implemented to consider the direct line of sight between the highest point on the turbine rotor and the receiver location. The rotor diameter can be defined via a memo variable .ROTOR_DIA in the point source.
    • Checkbox "IoA (hs - hr)" implemented to consider the different behavior between ISO 9613-2 (2024) and IoA Good Practice Guide when checking for concave ground.
  • CNOSSOS-HU: Libraries according to hungarian implementation of CNOSSOS-EU CNS-HU-2025 added (Road and Railway).

  • Point/Line/Area sources: New option Cdiffus to calculate transmission loss according to EN ISO 12354-4:2017.

Attributes

  • APU operation: New attribute APU_OPTIME to read/write the operation time.
  • Configuration of calculations:

    • New attribute SONR_USE_CMET to enable or disable the meteorological correction in SonRoad18 (2024).
    • New attribute FLG_BUF21_A for defining the default thrust for aircraft noise.
    • New attributes FLG_STAT_BEZ, FLG_STAT_SUM and FLG_STAT_GES for Evaluation of Max Levels for aircraft noise.
    • New attributes RAD_H_PROF, RAD_V_PROF and RAD_QSIGMA for calculation of radar data.
    • New attributes ISO_APP_D3, ISO_APP_D3IOA, ISO_APP_D5 and ISO_APP_D5IOA for calculation of wind turbines acc. to ISO 9613-2 (2024) or IOA.

Bug Fixes

  • Industrial sources: Correction in the selection of diurnal patterns. No scroll bar was displayed for many entries.
  • Industrial sources: Corrected table update, e.g., the value of the attributes LWT/E/N was not updated .directly when the attribute LW_LI was changed.
  • Modifications to the XHN import (directivity) to resolve issues with long comments and special characters.
  • PlotDesigner: Correction in the appearance of symbols (for example, north arrow).
  • CadnaB building: In some cases, values for Lp were not shown in the "Interop" table.
