Chapter 12 - Context Menu
By selecting an object on the main window while in the edit mode, or by selecting a data record in a table, using the right instead of the left mouse button, a context menu is opened offering a number of commands referring to the selected object.

Commands
The following commands are available from the context menu depending on object type. The links listed with each command refer - when nothing different is specified - to the respective sections of this manual.
3D-Special view
Graphical 3-D view with hidden lines, taking into account the visibility of the individual surfaces. Objects can also be edited in 3D-Special view by double-clicking an object (see 3D (Special)).
Break Areas
A closed polygon can be divided into several smaller areas with identical parameters (see Break Areas).
Break Lines
A line-like object is divided into at least two objects with identical parameters (see Break Lines).
Fit DTM to Object
CadnaA calculates the heights of objects and of the terrain at the pertinent polygon points of the objects. For the area in-between, a linear interpolation is performed (see Fit DTM to Object).
Duplicate
Several objects of identical properties and the same size are inserted in horizontal and/or vertical rows (see Duplicating Objects).
Edit
Opens an edit object dialog (alternatively: double-click an object with the left mouse button (see Edit Object).
Insert before/after
A new row is inserted in a table before or after the selected row. Another alternative is to press INS key (see Object Tables in the CadnaA-reference manual).
Generate Label
This option generates the issue of object parameters to be defined within an automatically generated Text box located at the object. You can do that for only one object, for all objects of the same object type or for all object types (see Generate Label).
Generate Station
Inserts station marks at a desired spacing along a line-like object, with indication of distances, e.g. marking of roads by kilometres (see Generate Station).
Force Right Angles
An arbitrary polygon with different angles can be transformed into a polygon with right angles by specifying a snap angle (see Force Right Angles).
Force Rectangle
An arbitrary quadrangle can be transformed into a rectangle (see Force Rectangle).
Snap Point to facade
This command enables to snap point objects (e.g. point source or receiver ) onto a building facade after the point has been inserted or imported (see Snap point to facade).
Edit Facades
The command enables to edit in the graphics sound sources attached to building facades. In addition, bitmap textures can be assigned to the facades and the roof facilitating the generation of attractive 3D views (see Section 3.1.4 in CadnaA Reference Manual).
Generate Building
Generates a building with sound-radiating facades and roof (see Generate Building in the CadnaA-reference manual).
Hyperlink
In the Info field of the object dialog you can insert hyperlinks for files, pictures, music, video, internet homepages etc. which you then can open easily by just one mouse click (see Dialog Options Name, ID, INFO, ObjectTree, Master).
Import here
Using this command enables to import data to the existing project while the origin (at x,y=0,0) of the imported data is placed to the point selected/clicked using the mouse or, if this command is selected from the context menu of a point object, to this point (see Import here).
Specify Length
The length of any line-like object can be specified (see Set Length).
Long Straight Road
Calculation according to the Germany guideline RLS90 for Long Straight Road (see RLS-90, Long Straight Road in the CadnaA reference manual)
Delete
Deletes the selected object - another alternative: press the DEL key (see Delete).
Fit Object to DTM
CadnaA calculates the heights of objects and of the terrain at the pertinent polygon points of the objects. For the area in-between, a linear interpolation is performed (see Fit Object to DTM).
Modify Objects
Different actions can be executed simultaneously on several objects and also on different object-types or groups of objects. Some actions can also be enforced on individual objects alone. These are then directly obvious in the context-menu (see Modify Objects).
Parallel Object
Generation of objects parallel to the object selected (see Parallel Object).
Modify Order of Points
This command enables to modify the sequence of polygon points of polygon objects (see Modify Order of Points).
Delete Grid-Points
Deletes grid-points inside or outside of a calculation area (see Grid Specification in the CadnaA reference manual)
Air Pollution
CadnaA enables you to calculate air pollution caused by road traffic according to the MLuS 92, edition 96 MLus92-96 (see Air Pollution according to MLus-92 in the CadnaA reference manual).
Generate Rails
A railroad track from parallel rails including the ballast bed is generated automatically (see Generate Rails).
Cross Section
Sectional view along a line (see Cross Section)
Sort
Sorting of table columns in ascending or descending order, numerical or alphanumerical (see Object Tables, Sorting Columns in the CadnaA reference manual).
Edit Column
Conversion of numerical values or substitution of character strings in table columns (see Changing Column Content in the CadnaA reference manual).
Spline
A selected polygon line is replaced by the segmented curve of a cubic polynomial (see Spline)
Simplify Geometry
Geometrical objects are simplified for calculation purposes by reducing the degree to which details are taken into account (see Simplify Geometry)
Generate Floors
Automatic generation of a vertical row of receiver points with corresponding heights for the different floors (see Generate Floors)
Transformation
The transforming of objects and/or complete projects is a strong aid and distinguishes CadnaA in a special way (see Transformation).
Convert to
An object type can be converted to another one (see Convert to).
Connect Lines
Individual parts of line-like objects of the same object type can be connected to a single object (see Connect Lines).
Pass-By-Level
For roads, railways, and other line-like sources, you can also calculate the time characteristic of the sound pressure level that would result if a single vehicle with a specified emission were to travel along a certain path (see Pass-By of individual Vehicles in the CadnaA-reference manual).
Break into pieces
Line shape objects are split into definable parts with identical parameters (see Break into pieces).
Show on GoogleMaps
Provided a geodetic coordinate system has been specified (see Coordinate System in the CadnaA Reference Manual), this command will show the selected point in GoogleMaps (using the default Internet browser). If no geodetic coordinate system has been specified, this feature is not available.
Zoom to object
The 2D view is adjusted so that the selected object is displayed within the borders. The object must lie within the limits of the project.
Change ObjectTree assignment
Available for current multiselection and ObjectTree groups (see Change ObjectTree assignment)
Modify Attribute
Available for current multiselection. Offers as selection of Attributes only attributes which are valid for all object types available in multiselection (see Modify Attribute).
Copy Attributes
Available for selected object types if the project has more than one variant (see Object Attributes per Variant in the CadnaA Reference Manual).
