Road Surfaces

The library Road Surfaces (on menu Tables|Libraries (local) and (global)) manages road surfaces to be applied in conjunction with specific calculation standards. The libraries can be extended by the user.

Selecting road surfaces

The selection of a single road surface is available via the Road dialog if the corresponding standard for road noise is selected in the configuration of calculations.

short-designation (attribute: STRO_ID)

Application

Calculation method for which a road surface is to be defined. Depending on the selection, different input values are possible/required:

  • CNOSSOS-EU: Selection of 2021/1226 or 2015/996, Speed Range, Definition of Alpha / Beta values
  • SonROAD18: Definition of DLW,R,road
  • RLS-19: Speed Range, Definition of Dsd (dB)

CNOSSOS-EU 2021/1226, 2015/996

When selecting the calculation method "CNOSSOS-EU", it is also possible to define under which version (2015/996 and/or 2021/1226) this road surface can be used in the road dialog. If one is selected, the road surface can be used for the European calculation method as well as for all country-specific implementations.

Speed Range 1 and 2 (km/h) for CNOSSOS-EU

Minimum and maximum speed for the road surface in two ranges. For each range, the emission parameters can be defined separately. The speed range can be identified in the emission table by the first column „Range“.

1/3-Octave Band Spectrum

When the checkbox is activated, input in the table below is possible in third-octave bands (instead of octave bands). This setting is required for calculations according to 2021/1226 NO.

Note

Regarding CNOSSOS-EU: When using the Library Manager (see Library Manager) make sure to use the Option to „Keep both“ upon Name Collision to keep surfaces with identical IDs but different applications (2015/996 and 2021/1226)
