Bitmap Files

The calculated noise grid is saved to a bitmap file, independent of the selected grid appearance (see Grid Appearance) the representation type „Raster“ is used.

On export, in case on of the appearance options „Lines of equal sound level“ or „Areas of equal sound level“ is selected, the specified setting for „Oversampling“ for appearance option „Raster“ is used to increase the resolution of the grid.

In addition to the export file a second file with the extension *.bpw is exported containing the geodetic reference coordinates of the grid. This enables to import this geo-referenced grid into a GIS software provided that the geodetic coordinate system is known.
