CadnaA 2025 MR1

Documentation

  • New and improved documentation replacing the previous PDF manuals and the internal CadnaA help.
  • The new documentation is accessible via:
    • Help | Contents menu (opens the homepage)
    • Clicking on Help buttons in dialogs (opens the relevant chapter)
    • Alternatively, key F1 can be used with in CadnaA
    • https://doku.datakustik.com/CadnaA/en/ (opens the homepage)
  • Global search across the entire documentation is now available.

Features

  • Reordering of variants via drag and drop is now possible. References using the new syntax (introduced in CadnaA 2024, e.g. @V1) are automatically updated.
  • New library entry “Legends” for creating user-defined legends, e.g., for object types or land use types.
  • Function "Break into pieces" with additional option "Do not split, just insert points".
  • Protocol can now be exported as an HTML file.
  • ODBC/Excel import: Attribute assignment is now handled via a freely configurable table. New rows can be added using Insert Before / After.
  • Grid export is now possible as GeoTIFF, see menu Grid | Save as.
  • When entering a polygon using the mouse, the last entered point can be removed using the Backspace key.
  • Customer number now visible in the About dialog.
  • Functions "Break Lines" and "Break Areas" have been changed as follows: If called directly via the context menu of an object, only active objects are broken. If called via "Modify Objects", the activation can be controlled in the dialog using the options "only active" or "only inactive".
  • Attributes of the building HB_LP# (referencing the levels of the corresponding building evaluation object) now also support referencing a variant via @V#.
  • Menu ObjectTree | Sound Power Level and ObjectTree | Partial Levels: The frequency weighting set under Properties | Miscellaneous is now displayed in the column header.
  • Improved performance and stability for industrial noise projects using the Harmonoise calculation method with a high number of edges between source and receiver.
  • Keyword #(License) now available when using “Print report”.
  • New attribute SSCR_I to set self-screening to active / inactive for road and railway objects.
  • Evaluation parameters using user-defined expressions will result in -88 if the expression is faulty or cannot be resolved.

Syntax deprecation warning

Starting with CadnaA Version 2024, the syntax for referencing variants was changed to @V# and for frequency spectra to @S# (see also the documentation: Attributes, Variables and Keywords | Object Attributes | Object Attributes Syntax Suffixes). The previous (old) syntax (e.g., LP1V01 or S_125) is now considered deprecated. We therefore strongly recommend switching to the new syntax as soon as possible to avoid compatibility issues. Although the use of the old syntax is still largely supported at present, it will no longer be considered in future developments and will only be tested to a limited extent. In a future release, the use of the old syntax will no longer be possible.

Current example: The functionality for reordering variants now recognizes variant references using the new syntax (e.g., LP1@V1) in result tables or object tables. Variant references using the old syntax (e.g., LP1V01) remain unchanged and must be manually adjusted afterward.

Calculation methods

  • SonRoad18:
    • New version sonRoad18 (2024) with propagation according to ISO 9613-2 (2024) available at tab Road. This is the new default setting.
    • New template for sonRoad18 (2024) with propagation according to ISO 9613-2 (2024), see the "Standards" tab.
    • Vehicle categories “Zürich Flexity” and “Zürich Forchbahn Be 4/6” adjusted. New category “Limmattalbahn Tramlink” added.
    • New setting in the configuration for defining the temperature used in the calculation of rolling noise correction. New attribute for write / read access with ObjAtt or SetObjAtt: SONR_TEMP.
    • Export / import logic adjusted:
  • The attribute STRGANG can now also be used for writing.
  • When STRGANG is set, RB_LME is no longer implicitly switched to “Counts, MDTD” but remains as previously defined.
    • Removed the Meteorology button for SonRoad18, as it had no function.

  • „CNOSSOS-NO“ (2021/1226-NO):
    • New country-specific implementation of CNOSSOS for Norway added. Calculation method can be selected via "Road" tab.
    • Calculation of maximum pass-by-level for CNOSSOS-NO implemented (also applicable in combination with other country-specific implementations such as EU, DE or AT).
    • New vehicle category 5 (electric vehicles) implemented.
    • New attributes P5T/E/N for accessing the traffic percentage of category 5.
    • Road surface definition is now possible as a third-octave spectrum.
  • New calculation method HJ 1358 (2024): Road noise, China
  • New dialog for calculating the average speed according to HJ 1358, Annex C
  • New function to calculate pickleball courts as part of the CadnaA tennis source.
  • For ISO 9613-2 (1996), new default state for checkbox „No subtraction of negative ground attenuation” (before inactive, now active)
  • Aircraft noise: New ANP database (version 7) available.
  • New setting in the calculation configuration to consider a search radius for the calculation of radar tracks (attributes RAD_DO_RMAX and RAD_RMAX).
  • HJ 2.4: In files with different versions for industry and road, only the road version was previously saved. This has now been corrected.
  • Nordic Prediction Method: Corrected an error in the calculation of NATs.
  • Correction for CNOSSOS-EU: When using both the “Default Percentages” (configuration of calculations) and diurnal patterns (within an object) simultaneously, it was possible that the default percentages were not applied.
  • Concawe: Bugfix for the calculation of K4 and K5 in combination with setting “worst case wind direction”.

Bug Fixes

  • Correction of the Bitmap dialog: The "Calibrate Bitmap" button was displayed even though calibration is not possible when "Bitmap embedded in cna-file" is selected.
  • Stability improvements for license access when using IPv6 addresses.
  • Bug fixes related to attributes SSCR_x relevant for self-screening of road / railway, especially in combination with Attributes per Variant.
  • Bug fix for use of "attributes per variant": If variant-dependent attributes were defined first and geometry was modified afterward, incorrect attribute values could be applied.
  • Bug fix for import / thin out height points of an ASCII Grid DTM file: If the file to be imported contained "NODATA" values at the edges, the tile borders could incorrectly include elevation data with a height of 0.
  • Object tables: The activation (attribute MARK) was not always displayed correctly in the case of a group dependency (but always correctly taken into account). This has now been fixed so that the display is always up to date.
  • Table ObjectTree | Sound Power Level: When using “Object attributes per variant”, this table now shows the sound power level defined per variant (previously, the master was always used).
  • Crash prevented when PlotDesigner was opened but the "Print Spooler" service was not active on the computer.
  • Fixed an issue in the definition of batch calculations. Previously, a grid could be calculated even if it was not defined in the "Select Batch Calculations" menu.
  • The tennis source now considers the search radius defined in the configuration of calculations.
  • Menu ObjectTree | Sound power level: When using the RLS-19 method, the sound power level was previously displayed too high.
  • Line and area sources: Negative values for Q when using a moving point source are now handled properly.
  • Railway object: If no object exists in the model yet, the first entry in Type of Track is now selected by default when creating a new object (previously, was selected).
  • Air route: The Apply button has been fixed (was non-functional since version 2024).
  • Fixed crash when all aircraft groups in a file were deleted.
  • Bug fix for the Aircraft Noise XML import format, where only the first file was imported when multiple files were selected.
  • Fixed crash for AzB-QSI export (air route without definition of runway).

DataKustik Launcher (Version 1.0.88)

  • Stability improvements, especially when using a server hardware-USB-dongle which is available for multiple clients.
  • Bug fix for applying a v2c update via the DataKustik Launcher.
