Diurnal Patterns
Diurnal patterns represent hourly profiles of emission for an entire day. Diurnal patterns can be used with the following types of sources:
- Road (see Common Input Data)
- industrial sources (point/line/area sources, see Common Input Data)
- Tennis - Point-of-Serve (see Tennis - Point-of-Serve)
Diurnal patterns can be imported via the ODBC interface as well (see below and see Database Import (ODBC & XLSX)).
Dialog options
BEZ, Memo-Window, ID, ObjectTree
see Dialog Options Name, ID, INFO, ObjectTree, Master in the manual "Introduction to CadnaA"
Application „Road“
Selecting application „Road“ enables to enter the hourly amount of traffic (veh/h) and the truck percentage (%) for each daily hour.

Dialog Diurnal Pattern (Application „Road“)
Application „Industry“
With application „Industry“ the following values can be specified alternatively for each daily hour (also holds for source „Tennis“):
- operating time in minutes per hour (mins/h)
- operating time in seconds per hour (secs/h)
- operating time (%)
- number of events per hour
From entered value the correction for operating time in dB is calculated and displayed in column „dB“.

Dialog Diurnal Pattern (Application „Industry“)
Example:
operating time 30 mins/h = (30*60) secs/h = 1800 secs/hequals 30/60*100 = 50%, equals 0.5 events/hcorrection for operating time: 10*lg 0.5 = -3.01 dB
Table „Diurnal Pattern“
Depending on the type of application the table shows the columns mentioned above.
Attributes on ODBC import
The following attributes specific to diurnal patterns are available on the dialog File|Database|Definition (see Database Import (ODBC & XLSX)):
| Attribute | Application | |
| Road | Industry | |
| TYPEI | 0 | 1 |
| M00 to M23 | hourly amount of traffic (veh/h) | number of events per hour |
| P00 to P23 | truck percentage (%) | (not in use) |
In case the operating time for industrial sources is specified in minutes or seconds per hour or in %, these values have to be converted to number of events prior to ODBC import (see example above).
