Chapter 9 - Data Import

CadnaA offers extensive features to import the object’s geometry and data from various file formats.

In view of the variety of import formats, only the procedure for the most relevant and frequent formats can be explained in the context of this introductory manual. This includes:

import of bitmaps as background images (including GoogleEarth™),
geometry import from DXF-files,
import of geometry and data from Shape-files (ESRI-ArcGIS),
import of data from MS-Excel worksheets via ODBC.

The procedures to be used are presented in the following by examples.
