SchallPrognoseApp SPA (*.spa)

Files of the SchallPrognoseApp (SPA) with the file extension *.spa of the German Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health BAuA can be opened directly in CadnaR after selecting the appropriate file filter.

Notes

Note

In the SPA, the subareas of deviating absorption are explicitly considered for the non-scattered sound component, while in CadnaR the subareas are always considered averaged over the entire room boundary surface.

Note

With the calculation method VDI3760 in CadnaR, a sound propagation curve is calculated for the entire room. Then, based on this curve and the distances between the source and the receiver, the level at the receivers can be calculated using the calculator symbol. In the SPA, an explicit image source calculation with direct sound and scattered sound is performed for each receiver.

Note

The VDI3760 calculation method in CadnaR does not support the use of the emission sound pressure level at the workplace..

The calculation method VDI3760 is automatically selected because it is most similar to the calculation method of the SPA. However, it is often advisable to change the calculation method after opening the SPA file to the particle model continue working with the particle model in CadnaR. Here it is to be noted that with the particle model no fittings density of scattering objects and absorption coeffiecients of scattering objects are available as seperate input parameters. The fittings / objects causing scattering&absorption are either modeled/input explicitely as seperate objects with scattering and absorption coefficients or considered implicitely by increasing scattering or absorption coefficients of the boundary surfaces of the room.
