Installing CadnaR
Installing CadnaR
In order to install CadnaR proceed as follows:
- Start your PC running a Microsoft operating system.
- Login as an administrator. Restart the operating system if required.
- Prior to the installation, close all other running software programs (e.g. virus scanners).
- Plug-in the USB stick for the first installation into a free USB port. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
After completion of the installation, the CadnaR program link is located on the Windows-StartUp-menu on Program Files\Datakustik\CadnaR.
EULA
With installation of the software you agree to the current End-User License Agreement ("EULA") of DataKustik GmbH. The EULA will be displayed during the installation process.
Installing the HASP-SRM-dongle driver
CadnaR is copy-protected by a HASP-SRM-dongle. It requires to install the dongle-driver to properly use the software. Proceed as follows:
- Run the file HASPUserSetup.exe in order to install the dongle driver.
- When the driver-installation is completed connect the HASP-SRM-dongle to a free USB-port.
Note
In order to use a network-dongle the dongle-driver has to be installed on all local client-PCs and on the server-PC as well.
Software-Updates
When receiving an update of CadnaR you may overwrite the installed version or you may install it to a different directory. An update is always a full version, therefore, the former version is not required.
INI-Files
INI-files are used by software programs to save user-defined settings and other parameters. From INI files these settings are loaded when starting the software. CadnaR can use several of such INI-files, each having different settings.
Start CadnaR and configure all the settings as desired, for example regarding the position and size of the CadnaR main window by dragging it to the desired position and size. When CadnaR is closed all settings are saved to the CADNAR.INI file.
First installation of CadnaR
The INI file is saved with the first installation of CadnaR (i.e. no CADNAR.INI is available on the system) in the directory APPDATA. Depending on the operating system this file is located in the following directories: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local
Using a specific language
The language setting of the user interface, however, is not saved in the INI file. This command has to be entered to the target of the shortcut as well. In order to launch CadnaR always with the English front-end append to the target a space and the parameter „/lang=eng“, again using the absolute path (provided this language is coded on the dongle):
C:\Program Files\Datakustik\CadnaR\Cadna_R_64.exe /lang=eng
This procedure works with other languages as well, provided they are coded on the hardlock.
Open INI-File
In order to open the presently used INI file, select the command Edit INI File from the Options menu. Subsequently, the INI file CADNAR.INI is displayed in a text editor and can be edited.
