Local/global Libraries
There are two types of libraries in CadnaR:
- The local libraries belong to a project file and are saved with that project file. The data in the local libraries, therefore, is not available in other project files.
- The global libraries are available in all project files. The data in the global library is not saved with the project file. It is recommended to enter data applying for a wider range of application in the global libraries.
Inserting, deleting, and editing of Datasets
In the libraries, data sets can be inserted, edit or delete library data records via the table's context menu. The local and the global libraries can be accessed from the object dialogs. Changes entered will only become effective when the object dialog is closed by OK.
Referencing Spectra in Object Dialogs
Spectra from the local and the global libraries are referenced by their ID on the respective object dialog.
Available Libraries
Presently the following local or global libraries are available:
- Sound Power Level (local/global)
- Sound Transmission (local/global)
- Absorption Coefficient (local/global)
- Scattering Coefficient (local/global)
- Product Library (local/global)
- Symbol Library (local/global)
- Symbol Library 3D (local/global)
- Color Palettes (local/global)
- SET-S (local/global) - see manual SET
- SET-T (local) - see manual SET
- Directivity (local)
- Text Blocks (local)
- Dosimeter (local)
- Noise Level (global)
- Absorption Coefficient of Products (global)
User-defined Entry for global Library in CADNAR.DAT
The user-defined data (e.g spectra) in the global libraries are saved in the file CADNAR.DAT to the hard drive. On Windows the following path is used:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Datakustik\CadnaR
This file will not be overwritten by an update. Please copy/save this file regularly to prevent data loss.
Global Library on a Server
In order to set a user-defined file path for the file CADNAR.DAT enter the following in the CADNAR.INI in the paragraph [MAIN]:
LibFile=DRV:\Path\Cadna.dat
For DRV enter your drive and path of the folder where the CADNAR.DAT is saved. This offers the possibility to store data from the global library on a server where all users have access to.
Buttons in Library-Tables
On the library tables accessible via the menu Tables|Libaries (local/global) the following buttons are available:
- Cancel: closes the table and applies the selected object
- --> Local Lib. (only with global library tables): After clicking this button, the currently selected dataset is copied to the corresponding local library (only for global libraries "Absorption Coeff.", "Sound Power", "Sound Transmission" and "Scattering Coeff.").
- Copy: copies the formatted table to the clipboard. Alternatively use the key combination CTRL+C. The table columns are separated from each other by tabulator marks (TAB). The table can by pasted to another application (e.g. MS-Word, MS-Excel) using the key combination CTRL+V.
- Print: opens the dialog Print or sends the table to an installed printer
- Font: selection of the font style options. The settings are be lost when closing the present project.
