Partial Echograms

The calculation of echograms requires that only a single source is active. With several point sources being active, an echogram at a location (receiver point) would be irrelevant. In these cases, CadnaR returns an error message in the consistency check, displaying „RIR-Evaluation: Multiple sources active!!“.

Thus, it is obvious that in situations where multiple point sources are active in a project, the generation of echograms causes an increased processing effort in order to e.g. separate relevant situations by using variants or individual project files.

Partial echograms in CadnaR help to overcome this by generating separate echograms for each combination of active point source and active receiver in the current variant, thus called a „partial echogram”. This feature largely reduces the laborious separation of scenarios which are to be assessed and consequently the processing effort in such cases.

Preparation

In order to calculate partial echograms, the option “Calculate Echograms and Decay Curves” must be activated on the “RIR evaluation” tab (see "RIR-Evaluation" tab).

Further important points:

  • With several variants, select the variant for which partial echograms shall be calculated.
  • If necessary, deactivate all point sources and all receivers that are not relevant for the calculation of the partial echograms.
  • For all point sources and receivers, enter a designation and an ID corresponds to the rules (see Common Input Data).
