Context Menu
Object-related Context Menu
The object-related context menu in the CadnaR main window is available after objects have been entered.
Click with the right mouse button on the border of the corresponding object to display the context menu. Select from the offered commands as required.
Context Menu Commands
Edit
The edit dialog of the selected object is displayed.
Delete
The selected object is deleted - without a safety request. The deletion can be undone (see Edit menu).
Modify Objects
When selecting this command, the dialog Modify Objects is displayed. In this case, the actual object is excluded from the selected action. Regarding all further options and actions see Chapter 6 - Modify Objects.
Modify Attribute
Available for current multiselection. Offers as selection of Attributes only attributes which are valid for all object types available in multiselection (see Modify Attribute).
Duplicate
This command enables to duplicate the selected object. Regarding all further details see Duplicate.
Spline
This command enables the apply a cubic spline interpolation to polygonal objects. For further details see Spline.
Simplify Geo
By this command polygons can be simplified by deleting polygon points. For further details see Simplify Geo.
Transformation
When selecting this command from an object’s context menu, the object can be transformed or copied and transformed. Regarding all further details see Transformation.
Note
The type of transformation "Interactive transformation" is not available via the context menu command.
Create Poly with n Edges
By this context menu command a polygon with n-edges can be generated from an auxiliary polygon which consists of exactly two points. To achieve this, enter on dialog Create Poly with n Edges the number of segments to be generated. Here, the first polygon point of the auxiliary polygon will become the center of the new polygon while the second polygon point is used as the radius.
Generate Label
Using this command from an object’s context menu enables to attach a label to that object. Regarding all further details see Generate Label.
Parallel Object
This command offers to generate a polygon object parallel to the current polygon. For details see Parallel Object.
Normalize rotation angles
Change ObjectTree assignment
Available for current multiselection and ObjectTree groups (see Change ObejctTree assignment)
Deconstruct box-type source
Available for box-type sources. Converts the box-types source into a box-type obstacle, area sources and vertical area sources. Area sources are created only on the emitting sides. In the dialog, the distance of the sources to the box-type obstacle can be adjusted (offset, default value: 0.05 m). The option max. length (m) can be used to specify a maximum edge length for the area sources in order to automatically subdivide the generated area sources.
Generate Envelope
Available for point and box-type-sources. The dialog "Generate Envelope" is opened using the source coordinates as center of center of the enveloping surface (see Generate Envelope).
Set Length
With polygons this command offers to set a specific length.
Convert to
The object the context menu of which this command is selected from can be converted to another object type. For more details, see Convert to.
Delete Grid-Points (for Calculation Area)
Deletes grid points inside or outside of a calculation area.
Group / Ungroup PolyMesh
Selecting the command Group PolyMesh will group the current object „PolyMesh“ (see PolyMesh) and all heights points and contour lines laying inside and generate a new PolyMesh combining all height information into a single object applying triangulation to all height points. The result is a common screening/reflecting/transmitting 3D-surface in space.
Selecting the command Ungroup PolyMesh will ungroup an existing PolyMesh and result in height point/s, contour line/s and in the original PolyMesh itself. Thus, the commonly formed 3D-screening surface is lost, leaving only the (outer) PolyMesh itself while the height point/s and contour line/s have no effect in CadnaR.
Break PolyMesh into Pieces
By this context menu command, a PolyMesh with n triangles is converted in n PolyMeshes with a single triangle each, based on the actual triangulation. This command enables - for example - to generate copies of the PolyMesh‘s components (e.g., to model parallel surfaces in the z-direction).
Generate Machine
see Generate Machine
Break Lines
This action is available from the context menu of all open polygons. All active polygons at the intersection with the intersecting polygon are broken. The action breaks objects even when the are intersecting line runs directly across a polygon point.
Note that deactivated objects are not broken and that line objects do not break any area objects.
Break Areas
This action is available from the context menu of closed polygons. The breaking area may protrude into the polygon‘s area or lay entirely within it. By the command also lines are broken.
When the breaking area lays entirely within the polygon‘s area, two objects of the same type are generated. The inner, smaller area cuts a „hole“ in the outer, larger area. The connecting line is a „channel“ allowing to display the resulting polygon ring by a single polygon only.
Note that deactivated objects are not broken.
