Estimation of Mean Absorption
Note
The feature described below refers to a German regulation and does, therefore, not apply to other countries.
This command is used to estimate and evaluate the mean absorption coefficient according to the German Technical Rule for Workplaces (ASR), Noise (ASR A3.7, Committee for Workplaces at the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health - BAuA).
Estimation of the mean absorption coefficient from T20
Selecting this command calculates and displays the mean absorption coefficient between 125 and 4000 Hz according to Eyring and the arithmetic average from 250 to 2000 Hz are calculated and displayed for the current room geometry based on the calculated reverberation time T20 (see "RIR-Evaluation" tab) at receiver points, not at receiver chains.
The mean absorption coefficient can be used for comparison with requirements according to German regulation ASR A3.7.

Option „User-defined room volume“
If the relevant room volume deviates (for example, after entering box-type obstacle), the room volume (in m³) to be used can be edited.
Option „User-defined room surface“
If the relevant room surface deviates, the room surface (in m²) to be used can be edited.
